ICAR-CMFRI Creates Awareness on POSH Act

Kochi: The ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) conducted an awareness programme on the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 to sensitise staff on workplace safety and grievance redressal mechanisms.

Adv. Jasmine V H delivered the keynote talk, offering detailed insights into the legal framework of the POSH Act, employees’ rights, and the safeguards available against workplace harassment. She highlighted the importance of awareness and compliance, underscoring the institutional responsibilities and the role of Internal Committees in ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment. The session also addressed procedures for filing complaints and the mechanisms in place for timely and fair redressal.

CMFRI Director Dr Grinson George presided. Principal Scientist Dr Imelda Joseph and Assistant Administrative Officer Manjusha G Menon spoke on the occasion.

The session was organised by the Internal Complaints Committee of the institute.
